WHY SOME TOP NETWORK MARKETERS ARE DEFYING THE DUPLICATION PROCESS!
I hate copying.
I love having my own style and flare.
I love coming up with new ways to express myself.
I look at the world through my own lens…
When I first heard leaders in Network Marketing saying:
“Duplication is the key to success,”
I WANTED TO SCREAMMMMMMMM!”
I had to learn how to pronounce the word
DUPLICATABLE (DOOOO PLI CA TABLE).
I would repeat it in the mirror like I was ELIZA DOOLITTLE.
People would say it fast who were in the industry awhile.
Every time I would hear it I would CRINGE, but they would say it as if it was a word we have been saying all of our lives (like “POTTY”).
I mean people outside of Network Marketing and Sales do not USE THE WORD. In fact, it may be the least used word in the world.
So, even though I am a natural at ‘improvisation’ – having played music (jazz) for years, I decided to practice that word like it was my name.
“Hi, I’m Deanna ‘Duplicatable’ Falchook!”
And I started coaching on the benefits of using a system and following a system. But being one to analyze and question accepted practices and cultural phrases, I have come to the conclusion that there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding that comes with the sentence,
“Duplication is the key to success.”
More and more TOP NETWORK MARKETERS are defying and questioning archaic systems that are defined as duplicatable (Doo pli KATE able) by people who haven’t explored new technology or moved into 2017.
Let’s explore what IS and what IS NOT true about duplication in Network Marketing.
DUPLICATION IS NOT ALWAYS THE KEY TO SUCCESS
Duplicating processes and systems can help you to build a strong business. But if you are duplicating a process that no longer is bringing results then you are INSANE.
After all, ‘insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results”.
I earned over a million dollars in 3 years by promoting my business on my personal Facebook page. I created and used a practice that thousands of people in our company were taught to use. We even teach scripts as to what your first Facebook post would be. I can identify and smell a ‘duplicatable’ Facebook post 10 miles away. I hate them because they lack authenticity and creativity.
Eventually, as Facebook changed it’s algorithms and I was NOT getting the same results from duplicating what everyone continued to teach (which in my opinion was outdated by a few years), I realized it was better to start a Facebook Business page and use a method to attract leads to me (aka Attraction Marketing).
If I had continued to be doing what was continuing to be TAUGHT as duplicatable (DOOO PLICK AT A TABLE)and then also taught it my team, I would not be seeing growth in my team. In fact, duplicating a system that is outdated and ineffective will cause some attrition in your business.
So, do (DOOOO) question whether or not the system they want you to duplicate is in actuality going to be bringing results.
When it doesn’t?
“STOP IT ALREADY OR YOU WILL BE DEFINED AS INSANE!”
DUPLICATING SYSTEMS THAT WORK IS A GREAT WAY TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL:
Be willing to create and explore systems that have a track record of bringing in results. For example, I believe three-way calls or third party validation will always work in Network Marketing. BUT the WAY you create third party validation can also be through a three way Facebook message. This is how I naturally built an income in Network Marketing to 100k in 6 months and a million in a little over 3 years.
Or you could ask a potential business builder or customer to meet you with your upline or business partner on Zoom or Skype. Be willing to take tried and true processes and give it a facelift. You would then be duplicating a process that works while also recognizing the positive adjustments to that system that needed to be made.
DUPLICATE THE PROCESS,
NOT THE PERSON
There is a huge difference betweem duplicating a process and duplicating a PERSON.
Never duplicate a person.
Many of us come into Network Marketing and find a leader (maybe even our sponsor) and admire them so much that we try to duplicate what they are doing, including their style and the way they speak to others.
We may even try to duplicate how they dress.
It s crucial to understand that this is a BIG BIG MISTAKE.
Do not try to copy a person that you admire in Network Marketing to a tee.
Duplicate processes that you respect but do not try to alter the amazing unique attributes and talents that you bring to the table in order to follow the DUPLICATION PROCESS.
You can not BE any of the top leaders in your company.
But you can be a top leader in your company as YOU. Embrace your unique characteristics.
Do not duplicate a person. Be authentic. Be yourself.
There I said it. This is often not the advice you are given by your upline.
We are coached to follow the systems that are DUPLICATABLE (DOOOO BE DO BE DO) and NOT add a creative flair or deviate from a system into a new one.
If NOBODY ever stretched out to use a new technique or creative process, we would still be faxing and FED-EXING pamphlets and catalogs.
I know that not everyone is a video editor or has skills with PHOTOSHOP that I do. So, I will admit there are some things that are NOT DUPLICATABLE (DO DO DO DA DAH DAH DAH) but that is no reason to stuff your talents into a box to collect dust.
If you have a talent that can be used in your business USE IT.
THINK OUT OF THE (dusty)BOX….
Someone had to post the first Facebook post to promote their Network Marketing business. I’m sure they were reprimanded by someone in their business who had been around longer than them who told them:
“THIS IS NOT DUPLICATABLE! JUST MAKE A PHONE CALL!”
I started recruiting via Snapchat and was ridiculed and mocked. Once those mockers started seeing my new recruits from SNAPCHAT they wanted me to teach them so they could DUPLICATE.
Be creative…..YES…it is a LIE FROM THE ABYSS that you have to build a business in Network Marketing without your creative input.
DEFY THE DUPLICATION PROCESS
I am in no way saying to be difficult and defy processes and systems that work. But I would rather have one leader who challenges me because of archaic systems then 100 obedient followers who don’t step forward to question and take charge of their business.
This is YOUR BUSINESS.
You do not need to be a follower, you need to LEAD.
Accept and apply amazing systems and processes that work and JUST SAY NO to following systems that DO NOT WORK ANYMORE.
Be the person who blazes a trail that eventually will become a standard that others will teach their teams.
Be a person that creates DUPLICATABLE systems.
You are special! You cannot be duplicated. Systems are duplicated.
Only duplicate systems that make sense.
Allow your team to thrive in their talents.
If they are writers and want to blog – encourage them.
If they are creative in music and write songs. Let them do that to promote their business.
If people produce creative videos and find a way to recruit people through videos —do not stop them.
Allow for creativity!
But do not defiantly turn away from systems and processes that work. If your creative idea is NOT bringing results stop and try something else.
Great music and art always starts with a foundation of notes and strokes that work in every song and painting. Remember to apply and use proven processes ALWAYS and creatively incorporate them in your work.
Show respect for tried and true systems but defy the ones that no longer work……LEAD LEAD LEAD…use common sense.
Don’t just follow because EVERYONE ELSE IS FOLLOWING..
LEAD YOUR TEAM in your own creative way.
Not everyone in your team will like it. Give them room to lead in their own way.
Do not micro manage…give your team freedom…
Nobody enters Network Marketing to have their creative freedom taken from them.
They entered this business for financial freedom, time freedom and the ability to EXPRESS THEMSELVES in their own unique way.
There are some things that are not DUPLICATABLE. You are one of them….
