Diet Soda Detox Diet: Aspartame WIthdrawal Support
It’s a serious problem.
Even though Soda consumption has been on the decline since 2006, Americans are still facing some serious health challenges due to continued over use of sodas. Diet Sodas are especially problematic. There is strong evidence suggesting that increased ingestion of aspartame can cause several health challenges. In 2015, Pepsi-Co replaced aspartame with splenda but the problems still exist. And although we are seeing an improvement in the awareness of the detriment to drinking the beverages on a daily basis, there are still some serious ramifications from consuming too much sodas. And many people are still suffering from an addiction to the drinks.
It is not easy to transition from drinking sodas to drinking healthier drinks such as water. But there is a way to start flooding your body with healthier options.
I have met many people struggling with soda addictions and one very clear observation is that the people who consume more than 2 cans a day usually will tell you that they are struggling to find more energy in their lives. And many are seeing actual weight gain from too much consumption.
The problem is that the sodas never really fulfill the body with the vitamins and minerals it needs. So, even though the diet drinks may be low in calories, drinking them could increase the desire to consume more calories in foods that have zero nutritional value.
Regular sodas are also not recommended. The drinks contain high levels of corn syrup can contribute to diabetes and risk factors for heart disease. Some people will think they are making an improvement by drinking fruit juices but the sugars in the fruit juices can also come with their own problems because they are sweetened with corn syrup as well.

The rise in blood sugar is quite rapid. Here’s a play-by-play of what happens in your body upon drinking a can of soda:
Within 20 minutes, your blood sugar spikes, and your liver responds to the resulting insulin burst by turning massive amounts of sugar into fat.
Within 40 minutes, caffeine absorption is complete; your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, and your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream.
Around 45 minutes, your body increases dopamine production, which stimulates the pleasure centers of your brain — a physically identical response to that of heroin, by the way.
After 60 minutes, you’ll start to have a blood sugar crash, and you may be tempted to reach for another sweet snack or beverage.

In addition, there are studies suggesting that drinking diet soda contributes to weight gain.
And don’t be fooled to thinking you should just replace those drinks with fruit juices. Most fruit juices are not an upgrade and also include corn syrup or increased grams of sugar…
The best replacement drink is water or green teas. In addition, your body is craving nutrients that it has been missing. And as your body discontinues drinking sodas or ingesting high levels or artificial sweeteners on a regular basis there will be an adjustment in your body (some call it a detox). During this time of ‘detox’ it is advisable to detox with a nutritionally dense plan in place. (OPT IN to our NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT PLAN FOR DIET SODA DETOX)
